I’ve started to get a lot of spam with requests to reply back to a gmail account. It’s strange that it came up all of a sudden.. perhaps I was lucky enough to get on someone’s junk list that they sold to some spammer. The address in the message is never the same as the From: or the Reply To:, and the name signed in the bottom is never the name in the From:

I’m generally not that interested in their offerings, but just as a service to those spammers, I thought I’d try to help them reach as many people as possible with their message. I’ll start to put the email addresses in this post, and I encourage you in the comments section to add your own if you are getting messages like this. Please post all the various addresses used, ie. the one in the To: the one in the ReplyTo: and the one listed in the body of the message.

Just to give an example, here’s the latest one I’ve gotten:

I have a new customer website that is getting a lot of traffic lately.  Wisconsin Dells Advice.  This site offers original reviews of Dells attractions, information on deals and coupon codes, and also keeps you up to date on current happenings in the Dells.  Another nice feature is the forum section, where visitors can ask questions and help others out.

We recently registered http://www.fengshuidecorgifts.com/decor/gifts/ as a secondary domain for our new customer, RSVP Feng Shui Gifts. We’re now waiting for the big search engines to pay us a visit!

Just to ensure customers can find the new website for Allo! Chocolat, we registered a second domain name, allochocolate.com, which will redirect customers to the actual website

We’ve started the website switchover for this fine Waukesha, WI chocolate and sweet retailer.

As a “off site” backup, I registered www.yawebhost.net.  I used a different registrar than the one I used for yawebhost.com, and I also am hosting the website through a different provider.  Intentions are that if anything ever goes awry with the current hosting provider or registrar, I’ll still have a “home” on the net.  I’ll be setting up nightly syncs of the website content to this new account, to be able to bring sites back online in the off chance that the current provider disappears…
